City Farmer's Market Brisbane Reviews
Colorful City Farmer's Market Jun 23, 2010
This market located outside the library takes place every Wednesday and is very popular among the locals and visitors. I was lucky I was in town on a Wednesday and found it.
The crowd you will find here wear casual but also business clothing. Definitely this place is popular with people wanting to buy fresh food.
It's not like an open market in Peru, but still charming. You will find fresh seasonal products, such as local fruits (I was looking forward to see the local products) and veggies. But also you will see bread, freshly made pasta (created in front of you), quiches, pies, organic and gluten free grocery items, cheeses, dips, olives and sweet patty cakes. So, here you can not only do your grocery shopping, but also grab a bite.
I was looking for something sweet and among all the food stalls I found a Greek one. I was wanting to try something different and a Greek dessert sounded perfect!
I tried the kourabiede which was delicious!
I love all the stalls, everything looking so tasty and fresh.
Since Reddacliff Place is not well covered. Bring your umbrella in case it rains. Some of the stallholders offer to keep your purchases (such as cuts of meat and vacuum sealed seafood) chilled until you pick them up to take home, as long as it’s before 6pm when the market closes. They are so friendly and proud of their products than are more than happy to be able to help you.
If you are in town, make sure you taste this lively place.
