City BackPackers Hostel Stockholm

Good location:
Just 10 min walk from the central station
Close to everything in town

Good deal:
Only about 250SEK per night for the 8-female dorm.
Very impressed by the 1hr free city tour (should join!), free sauna (bring along suitable clothes for sauna!), free bike lending, free pasta, free internet, free coffee, large kitchen and common area!!!

Good security:
Rooms and entrance are secured by password locks.
Big lockers are provided in dorms and common area.

Good staff:
Very helpful !!!

while in stockholm last summer, i spent my time at the city backpackers - it was a minimal walk from the train station, slightly uphill.

they offered free internet - i believe there were four stations - free coffee/espresso/latte machine - free foosball, but most important for me was free pasta. food was pretty expensive in sweden, but they just had a big bucket of dry pasta that almost everyone was cooking up, just buy your own sauce.

pretty good common area, both upstairs and down - good bunks in the rooms, with large lockers that easily fit my aether 60L pack. i do not know if they had a safe behind the desk or what not for more important valuables, but i stored everything i needed to in my locker.

they also have a sauna downstairs, with separate times for males/females - the showers, while separate, have a little bit of common area, so if that is a problem for you, you might not want to stay here.

however, the hostel didnt allow alcohol inside the building while i was there. though we would drink outside in the courtyard, as long as you didnt get too rowdy, i think the other buildings are just apartments, and noise can be an issue late at night.

i hope that doesnt scare you away unless thats something you are absolutely looking for. i had a great time - the facilities, people, and staff were all very helpful.
