Review City Apart. Hotel Düsseldorf

This place, located in the centre of Düsseldorf, does not offer the luxury of a five star hotel. What it does offer though is great value for money.
It is an ideal hotel for a city trip, a short walk away from the major sights of the city. Less than ten minutes walking from the main train station, the Hauptbahnhoff, and with several parking garages nearby at reasonable rates.
The hotel itself has an underground garage for private cars for the night.

At reception, where English is spoken, people are friendly and helpful.
The rooms themselves are clean, spacious and have comfortable beds. In the en suite bathroom there’s plenty of room to move around. Towels and the like are provided and all classic amenities such as hairdryer and socket for electric razors are at hand. The shower cabin is roomy and comfortable but the location of the sensitive regulator is somewhat unfortunate. It s difficult to avoid accidentally switching it off or changing the temperature by bumping into it.

Not being located in the party district or on a main road there’s little noise coming from the outside. On Sunday there are bells of a nearby church but they don’t toll very early. On the inside most noise, apart from if you have the misfortune of having rowdy neighbors, comes from the creaky wooden floors. Not everywhere but some sections, both in the rooms and on the hallways, produce noise when stepped on that could unease light sleepers a bit.

Two keys are needed, one for the room and another for the night entrance when reception is closed.
In the morning a plentiful breakfast is provided on the ground floor. There is enough variety for everyone to get their fill and start the day with full stomachs.
