In Pessac, a suburb of Bordeaux, is one of the two housing estates designed by Le Corbusier in 1924 on behalf of Henry Frugès, a sugar industialist, who wanted to house his workers in a garden city". 51 houses built in 7 different types with their terraced roofs, geometric shapes, modular construction and colorfull façades and window blinds, the houses were a laboratory of the architect's innovative ideas.

Today some of the buildings are in need of renovation and some have been renovated.

On of the houses you can visit wednesday to saturday 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm, sunday 2 pm to 6 pm.

Get there by Bordeaux city bus number 4, bus stop Le Monteil (Cité Le Corbusier).
