Cinema Yara Havana Reviews
Old school (or just old) cinema May 04, 2011
It's no multiplex. It's an old movie theatre to remind you of the cinemas that are hard to find nowadays. Old chairs, old (very old) screen and only one movie played for the whole week. Forget about fancy bars selling hot snacks and cold soda or beer. You may buy some snacks outside in CUP. Later it's just you, almost complete dark and the not-so-sharp movie. Foreign movies are played in original language with Spanish subtitles so you don't have to speak Spanish to enjoy it.
The entrance is 2 CUP, but sometimes they want to charge foreigners 2 CUC so watch out.
You may need to get there half an hour earlier if the movie is popular among locals. In that case patiently wait in a long, long queue to buy your ticket or ask a local to buy it for you.
Pro - it has AC (it's not in all Cuban cinemas)
Con - don't use the bathrooms :)
