Ciao Hotel Cairo
Ciao Hotel Cairo Reviews
Central but very noisy. Aug 12, 2006
The Ciao Hotel was arraned for me and my friend by a guy from some sort of a tourist office on the Cairo International Airport. We landed at 2am local time, so we were too tired and sleepy to ask enough questions about it. The price for person was 7 euros for a double room, might seem cheap, but you can get cheaper and much better accomodations in Egypt. The only really positive point of this hotel was its location opposite the Ramses Railway Station that made it easy to orientate and we were within a walking distance to many places. But the fact that the hotel stands opposite the station meant a lot of traffic noise as well starting already in the very early hours...around 4am-5am. Our room was pretty shabby, are only hope the airconditioner made so much noise that we couldn't sleep. As it was too hot we had to leave the balcony door opened instead, but the traffic noise didn't let us sleep as well. The bathroom wasn't really clean, but we could survive that. Breakfast was included in the price but it was very simple, just a little bit of arabian bread with soft cheese and black tea. The lift went just to a certain floor and looked like it survived the World War I and II.
Can't recommend this place, if you are not one of the late ones and you are not afraid of missing your train, better don't stay here. Part of the Egypt - August 2006 travel blog |
