Château de ROCHEBONNE in Theizé Theize Reviews
Don't miss the XVIIIth century Aug 09, 2010
In place of a former fortified building razed to the ground in 1363 thanks to our English friends,in the XV th century was built a fortified house that included the north tower completed with the south tower at the end of the century. The arrow slits still show its defensive nature.
The buildings were transformed in the 17th century to their present appearance.
There are intersesting features including the north and east facades, the master bedroom, the monumental staircase, the cellars, but overall the listed XVIIIth century trompe l'oeil paintings looking like a gallery.
Concerts and annual festival are held in this château(2010 festivalon 17to 19th September, info at www.rdv-rochebonne.fr
