Christmas at liseberg Gothenburg Reviews
The ultimate Christmas athmosphere in Gothenburg! Nov 10, 2010
The Christmas Market at Liseberg amusementpark is a great experience for everyone who loves Christmas! The huge park is decorated with 5 000 000 lights on all the trees and houses. It's may sound tacky, but it's not. It's beautiful!
The market is the biggest Christmas market in Sweden, and you can find lot's of really nice things here. I bought many beautiful Christmas decorations to hang on my tree. There are also shops from designer brands, both Swedish and international. A lot of it is christmas related, but you can also buy clothes and interior thingys such as pictures and vases an so forth.
For those not into shopping, some of the rides are open, though I think it can be pretty cold on a ride in the winter.
Also, there are plenty of places to buy food, either sit down and eat or buy a cup of hot chocolate to warm you up. It's nice to walk around and soak up the athmosphere and enjoy the Christmas feeling :)
It's best to go in the evening, when it's dark, so that you can see the effect of the lights. Luckily it gets dark early at this time of year, so sometime in the afternoon is late enough. But it might be cold though, and it's all outdoors, so dress properly!!!
It varies when the open. In November is only in the weekend, but in December it opens on more and more days. Check the website to see, it has information in English. It's usually open from around 13.00 (or 15.00 some days) until 21.00 or 22.00 depending on the day.
