Christiansburg Vacation Guide
Christiansburg is a suburb of Blacksburg, that is if Blacksburg was large enough to be considered urban. While Blacksburg is not that large of a city, Virginia Tech makes it feel bigger. Even though Blacksburg has more than twice the population, Christiansburg is the county seat of Montgomery County. Christiansburg is located along Interstate 81, so it has all of the usual exit ramp businesses, though you have to visit the old downtown area to get a real feel for the town. Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, and Booker T. Washington each lived in Christiansburg at some point in their lives. Christiansburg is very hilly and is just a short drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the New River.

While visiting friends in Christainsburg, we made a slight detour to see the Natural Bridge near Roanoke, VA. We walked the nature trail at the bridge, took in the Indian Camp demonstrations, checked out the wax museum and went below to see the forms in the caverns nearby too. A great afternoon with good friends.
