Zermatt was a sper of the moment stop. On our way to Florence, we got off the train in Brig, to catch the local train to Zermatt. The hotel ran steep but what the hell.
Located below the reception, and to the right, is an Olympic sized swimming pool (free to guests) open to the public. There is also a spa downstairs of the pool. On the roof of the pool is a small put-put golf area. The restaurant is top-notch. Pricey, yet very good. The WIFI signal is weak, even in the bar near the front desk. The price of the rooms are more if you are on the side facing the Matterhorn. They offer a shuttle to and from the train station.  Part of the Europe July-Oct. travel blog
