The Tram travels on a track (approx 2kms) that passes and stops at many tourist attractions. It is well worth the price. In 2007 it was $14 each and that was hop on and off all day, for 2 consecutive days. Although the stops are close, the commentary is good and it is up to you where you choose to stop. We walked across the park from our hotel and waited for a tram. We didn't have to wait for long before one came. We paid for our tickets and then sat on the tram for the full loop so that we could see what there was and then on the second run we had decided where we wanted to get off. There are a few trams so there is not a long waiting period to board.
There is also a restaurant tram every evening but we didn't go on that. The other thing that you can do is but a combo Tram and Gondola ticket.

Im Wesentlichen sind wir dabei der Tramway-Route gefolgt. Wie die Eisenbahn spielt auch die Straßenbahn in Christchurch als Transportmittel keine Rolle sondern fährt ausschließlich Touristen im Kreis - zu exorbitanten Preisen, versteht sich. Straßenbahnen sind uns allerdings recht vertraut, daher haben wir uns darauf beschränkt, einfach… Waschtag |

A little further on is lovely New Regent Street, filled with pastel-coloured houses, where we actually see the old tram drive by. We walk to the calm Avon river that runs through Victoria Square and then towards the Bridge of Remembrance and the Antigua… The longest day |
