Chow Tory Street Reviews
Jun 15, 2007
If you're ever in Wellington, make Chow on Tory Street, just off Courtenay Place (or it's sister on Woodward Street in the CBD) a "must stop" for lunch or dinner. They serve delicious Asian fusion cuisine, and offer fantastic wine and cocktails. Try the banana-leaf chicken with coconut rice, or the pork and sticky rice sausage - unbelievable. And as for drinks, you can't go past the Rosebud. Your best bet is to go for a few plates to share (general rule is three plates between two people for dinner) - but the helpful and friendly staff will be happy to guide you. The atmosphere is hip and trendy, and sometimes the clientele are a little "too cool", but you won't care. As a Wellingtonian now living in Seattle, Chow is one of the things I miss most!
