Mixed dining experience Jan 31, 2016
S34°55.353' E138°36.607' this busy Vietnamese-Chinese (mainly Chinese dishes on the menu) on Rundle Street needs tables on the sidewalk to serve the guests. Pedestrians between tables did not appeal to us, so we chose a table inside in January 2016.

First, we chose a glass of Maxwell Chardonnay for AUS$8 per glass. This white wine was actually very good. It had a very woody taste and was much better than previous glasses of Australian wine. The Vietnamese spring rolls with chicken and prawns as entrée for AUS$11 were good too.

The signature dish of Chopstix is a half roasted duck, deboned and served with duck and plum sauce for AUS$24. It was tasteful and had a nice texture. Well prepared. Unfortunately, the lemongrass beef served on a sizzling hot plate with vegetables for AUS$22 was clearly overcooked. The texture lacked a bite and was too tender. The taste suffered too.

The presentation of the food could have been much better and service suffered by a lack of staff members. Overall dining at Chopstix was a mixed experience. Plenty of room for improvement.
