A cultural experience. Jan 05, 2011
Choki Dhani village is a food court fashioned in the style of an authentic Rajasthani village.I was thinking of an evening and night out and suggested by the hotel front desk decided to visit this joint.Kind of late around 6 pm and being a Saturday, the place was already crowed and I had to Que up for an entry ticket.Staff dressed in ethnic fashion every where help you through the village.Thatched huts on platforms or platforms under trees serve as the stage for folk artists.Songs , dances, and puppet shows amused me. Children's play area was crowded and so where the shows. The dining area was crowded too.It was one where I had to sit on a cushion on the floor and food was served in tradition style. No limits to how much you eat.The food was traditional rotis made out of different cereals, curries and sweets. With a tight jeans I found it hard to sit on the floor but thoroughly enjoyed all the rotis and curries and sweets.Had second servings of the delicious ones. The cost being fixed think it is like a buffet but where you are served.

It was fun though you had to put up with the noise, crowd and traffic.
Very late and heavy coming out of …
