Chocolate de Batirol Baguio City Reviews
traditional Filipino delicacies in refreshing setting May 15, 2016
Choco-late de Batirol is a garden-like restaurant, located in Baguio's Camp John Hay.
They served traditional Filipino breakfast staples like suman, bibingka and arrozcaldo ... with their famous namesake, chocolate de batirol, a dark, thick hot chocolate, prepared from the local cacao tablets in a Filipino traditional way of using the batirol or wooden stirrer/whisk by rubbing vigorously between the palms of the hand to foam the chocolate mix.
We ordered the batirol set of 6 traditional (chocolate de batirol), 2 bibingka, and 1 suman *(they had no turon that day). The hot chocolate was loosely thick, very finely grounded, lightly sweet with a hint of bitterness. I love it! We enjoyed our suman and bibingka in our very own hut surrounds bed flowers and plants like a garden!
