Chizzos Kitzbuhel Reviews
Chizzos Mar 23, 2011
Chizzo is a bar and Italian restaurant, but I am reviewing it as a bar because
we never ate there. We were going to, but we sort of got drunk and forgot…
It’s fantastic. There is a little outside seating area under a canopy, round an
island style bar staffed, when we were there, by a man who looks like he really,
really enjoyed the rock scene in the 1980s and saw no reason to leave it. In
a good way. We were there all early evening, drinking little beers and getting far tipsier than we should have been (beer seems to have more of an effect at
altitude and when you’ve been exercising all day). The music policy is heavily
based on 1980s pop-rock, and we sat and sang along to Dire Straits and Bon Jovi, at one point singing Living on a Prayer loudly and enthusiastically until the
barman put it on the stereo. At which point he gave us all a free Jaegermeister and we all decided he was the best person ever.
There is a drinking game to play, involving hammering nails into a piece of wood with the claw end and drinking if you miss, or possibly if you hit, or maybe
both. The details are unimportant. This is a bar where you can play with
hammers whilst listening to 1980s rock, and that is by far the most important
thing. Highly recommended.
