Chinatown Restaurant Sep 22, 2012
Chinese restaurant in Lagos are always almost expensive. Exception is this restaurant aptly called, what else? Chinatown Restaurant. It is located at Idowu Martins St., Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. Though it is named such, it also served Thai dishes however, it is the Chinese menu that people come for. I have visited this restaurant numerous times but I must confess it was only last Saturday that I remembered to take some photos, specifically for this review.

In terms of food, it is delicious. They have a full menu starting from soup to the main dishes. I usually ordered their spicy seafood soup, very filling and yummy, and unfortunately, the name escaped me at the moment.

For your appetizers/starters, you can choose from several version of spring rolls-beef, chicken, shrimp, dumplings, chicken wings, and so many others.

s for the main dish, they have several offerings mainly sectioned into beef, chicken, pork and duck. They also served several version of rice-steamed, fried, and those flavored with meat. There are also 2 types of noodles served, rice noodles and chow mein.

A personal favorite is the beef chow mein or the shrimp chow mein, plus the shrimp spring rolls. The price is very reasonable compared to other Chinese restaurant. As for the service, waiters and waitress are attentive. Serving size, up to 2 person can share their usual serving.

Yes Jacques, there is. There is even a place called , you guesses it, Chinatown. This is mostly a commercial area. They sell a lot of things there. Chinese food is very popular here too.

Is there a large Chinese population in Lagos, or is it also popular with the local people? Nice review by the way :)
