Okay, so I have taken out one car, a few people, a partial head and ear, and several people in the distance. Easy stuff. Most of them done in an hour or less.
Now it’s time to try one that will take a little longer. One that sets a higher challenge, and see if I really do have any skill, even if it is silly. Actually, it just proves I have way to much time on my hands!
This time I annihilated hundreds of people throughout a picture leaving the wonderful backgro…

Inside, I’m a mess. I’ve got a broken jaw and half a dozen nails holding my features together. I smile a welcome to my new company & I feel my bones move & my stomach shift. I should be in bed, but sleep is for the weak when there’s work to be done. Despite my predicament, on the outside, I look whole and I don’t telegraph anything but control. Out here, that counts for 101% for nothing is quite as it seems. Not even my face.
12am…

I got a flight on Air Asia (great prices) from Macao to Bangkok. On the flight I had some thoughts on the country I've been in for the last year...
China is a country I have spent a good number of years in, a number of times. I learned the language and developed a deep understanding of the people and culture.
The food culture is very rich. Eating is very important to daily life in China and is an important way to socialize and forge human bonds for Chinese. The cuisine is varied the north …

Shanghai is the probably the ‘New York’ of Mainland China, and there’s not much to see except for the Jade Buddha and the Shanghai Museum. So after seeing the Bund last night, I thought Id try my luck and get tickets for an overnight train to Xi’an that night. Train tickets as I’ve read from reviews and blogs, can run out pretty fast especially with the Spring Festival nearing yet I got a hard sleeper for 357 CNY for that night going to Xi’an. Yay, felt a bit glad actu…

Today myself and Kenton, my American roommate from San Fancisco trekked back up to the restored part of the Great Wall of China to take a few photos in the sun before heading back to pack and shower.
We checked out of our guest house and boarded the bus back to Beijing. By the time we reached Beijing the temperature was 37 degrees and we were all wilting in the sun, we sheltered in the air conditioned supermarket and grabbed some food for our twelve hour train journey to Xi'an.
Faces …

Day 10 (leaving day) :
I got up at 7am. I set my alarm about 7:30am but I woke up before that. I looked to my next bed. MM?? I saw something not familiar in my room. A girl from Demark brought a guy in our room! And both of them were naked lol I'm glad I didn't hear ANYTHING when I was sleeping. And this guy is staying in the same hostel!! It was funny looking them though.. The guy put his pants on and left soon and she run to the bathroom seems like nothing was going on in our room. H…

As I mentioned, I had every good intention to go to the Shanghai Museum. I meant to do that 'today' but didn't. I went shopping again, but for sensible things - I picked up some green tea and jasmine tea to take home, as well as a really nice hardback book of Chinese Home cooking recipes - I really wanted a recipe from jiaozi which are FABULOUS steamed dumplings, with a pork and spring onion/ scallion stuffing. My homestay granny in Jimo made them every week for me: we'd have them hot for din…

OK, how do I start? It's been some time since I been there (I arrived to Beijing at May 20th 2006) and I lost all the films because I post them all from Mongolia (I didn't felt like carry them with me) and the package just never arrived.
I don't see the point of making a long list of all the places I visit during those 2 months and with out the photos I feel lost. So, instead I'm going to tell about it the way I did told it from the road: just post all the emails I sent to people. So you wi…

Beijing, China.... there are different kinds of food to try here, from your regular kungpao chicken to the most unimaginable food that you could think of....There is one street over at Beijing that offers all this kind of foods...The smell of the food was not really the best, but the experience was really different. I was tempted to try one, but i kind of backed off on some of the food they offered, i tried the deep fried starfish and the seahorse, but when it comes to so…

I am starting to think about what to pack and bring. It's been raining so much in California the past few weeks, I hope I won't get too wet in China! The flight leaves on April 9 from San Francisco to Shanghai. I will spend only one night in Shanghai, so won't get to see it much on this trip. Other than Shanghai and Beijing, I have not been to any of the cities in between, so it should be an interesting experience. The weather in these cities appear to be between high 40's to 70's, so that's …

It was 830PM, and we were set for boarding. We said goodbye to Vivian, for the emantime, before we proceeded to Compartment 3. This is the first time I will be experiencing a long train ride so my excitement was rising. The first thing I did when I reached my cabin was leave my bags inside, went out of the train and appreciated how huge it was. I took some pictures of course. I was having fum when the crew approached and told me, we were set to go. I told him "okay, but we have to have a pict…

Linguistically confused? Welcome to my life. And add a dash of Spanish to the mix... I've really got language problems. But that's okay. Today I got up early on my day off to go out to 香山 (pinyin: Xiāngshān, English: Fragrant Hills). In Chinese, 山 is the character for mountain, so whoever came up with hills got something wrong. Or at least I think so since I think there's a difference between a hill and a mountain. *shrugs* That could just be …

We arrived in Shanghai about 6am on a Saturday in the middle of the summer humidity.. again, no hotel reservation. I wasn't too worried however, because we had all day to work on it and I knew we'd eventually find something. The key was trying to get something close to the famous Bund, which I'd heard and read so much about. The first place was full (for real) but it was way too expensive anyway, so thank god. As we were walking out the door, the bell hop whispered, "You want…
