Children's Carnival Villers-la-Ville Reviews
Fun for French Children Feb 21, 2009
The Children's Carnival is held on the Saturday before Shrove Tuesday in Villers la Ville, in Walloon Brabant. The main Carnival is on the day after, with the Saturday being only for the children. It is a small and simple affair, with a temporary hall being thrown up and carnival rides and side shows being trucked in, but all the children obviously enjoyed the chance to dress up and be entertained. As a chance to see festive life in a rural French hamlet it was quite enjoyable for half an hour or so - as a French five year-old it must be bliss.
