Founded in the eleventh century by the ruling doge of Venice, this church was destroyed by fire in the same century. Soon after, the church was remade and then further refined in the seventeenth century. Today, the church is probably the most unique in Venice and amongst many in Italy, as the church holds regular classical music concerts. Still the church can be visited for religious/sightseeing purposes during the day for free!
