Fragile and beautiful Apr 29, 2011
Tucked away near the cemetery in Spoleto, this church has been around since the ninth century and was constructed in a Romanesque style. The interior of the church is completely gutted and there is just a big open space. The only things of note are the impressive looking columns, the domes which are threadbare and the frescoes that hang on in a rather fragile way. There was something so wonderfully deserted and fragile about this place, and no one really seems to come here at all. If you want to see something special and unique in Spoleto, come here.
