Dedicated to Saint Francis, this church is not far from the centre of the town. The façade is rather plain looking, but on the inside, I thought that the chapels and altar were decorated very well and much better than what I expected for this part of Italy. It is decorated in the baroque style and dates from the seventeenth century, however its origins may precede this by a century or two. Given that Saint Francis was fairly local, I was surprised that they didn’t have more artefacts related to him apart from the large statue of him. The church is scrupulously maintained and worth popping into as it won’t take you more than five minutes to see everything!
