Tiepolo paintings Apr 06, 2011
Constructed during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, this church is quite the little gem and not far from the centre of Vicenza. The key features have to be the paintings which grace the main altar; they were produced by Tiepolo and the overall effect is rather nice. Other highlights include the foundations which can be see just off the right hand side from the main altar; you get a real feel for the age of the building and while I am not sure whether the stones identified the burial place of someone, the whole view was an unexpected feature of the church. Elsewhere, the chapels are nicely done. If you are a Tiepolo fan, this is a good church visit and even if you’re not, it’s a nice little visit.
