Great brickwork and blue Apr 08, 2011
Although the church is a bit of a walk from central Vicenza, I think it’s worth the effort and it precedes an area that has a few shops and bars too! The church has been continuously embellished; the oldest part of it dates from the fourteenth century but it had some major work done to it during the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries too. The façade is highly unusual and I have never seen a church like this before. The brickwork is rather uniquely designed and quite eye-catching. Inside, the theme continues with artwork that is highly detailed and every effort has been made to cover every inch of plain wall. The blue background was just so amazing and calming, that I think the church was worth visiting for this alone! Nicely done overall!
