Chiesa Santa Maria in Nazaret Venice Reviews
Stunning sculptures and chapels Oct 09, 2010
Located very near the train station in Venice, this church is a wonderful baroque church to visit. Constructed around the seventeenth century, this church is full of wonderful sculptures which are made out of marble. The frescoes at the top of the dome are also very spectacular. I had never heard of the artists or sculptor before, but really was pleased about this because even less famous churches in Italy can be full of such good quality art work.
Admission is free and photography is allowed.
While most people head for the canals and the gondolas in Venice, this church is a bit of a hidden gem. If you are arriving or departing from Venice via the train station, reserve a little time and pop to this church nearby.
