The ruins at Chichen-Itza were absolutely amazing. It was quite a trip into the interior of the Yucatan peninsula, but it was definitely worth it. On the other hand, the vendors at the site were incredibly annoying. People won't leave you alone, trying to sell you stupid little trinkets while you're trying to take in the scenery. Stopped over at the famous Ruins Site halfway between Playa Del Carmen and the State Capital, Merida.
World Famous, El Castillo.
Amazing ruins site, best seen with a guide for at least the first few hours, then go wondering by yourself. Best early in the morning or late afternoon to get those elusive photos without people in them.
Temple of the Warriors.

Our next stop was to the famous Mayan ruins and pyramids known as Chichen Itza. This restored Mayan site is one of the 7 Modern Wonders of the World. This photo was taken from a Mayan sports field in view of its largest pyramid and some lovely Mayan sculpture.

This was a foreign language trip I took in middle school. It's been so long since the trip, so there isn't much in terms of narrative, but some of the pictures are still decent.
