Frank Sinatra once sang the now famous words, "Chicago is my kind of town...". Ol' blue eyes knew the heart of the city and he fell in love with it. You will too! Diversity, Culture, Art, pre-Modernism, modernism and post-modernism line the streets of this city. The same streets sing the song of Chicago's wonderful history. Chicago truly is a great city. I hope you get to visit one day! :D

To be honest, my extremities went numb because of the cold and I could not feel them after waiting in line for skate rental. It was about 26F outside on a Saturday morning. A little too chilly for a gal from the South. But I was determined to ice-skate at the Millennium Park, and there I was standing diligently in the cold with other people who did not bring/have their skates to the park. The park people had to regulate people who were in line and those who were already in the rink. They also…

A selection of photos of Chicago.
It is a very beautiful city. Its architecture, its history, the music everywhere, its rich and interesting museums and the wonderful location by the Michigan Lake make Chicago a place to visit where you can have great time.

Probably one of the coolest things about going to college so close to the city is they do very cool alumni events! Recently we went on the Chicago River boat tour to discuss, look at and see from a different angle, the architecture of the city. Following the event the boat went through the locks (the lake sits lower then the river therefore to get from one to the other you have to go through the locks which evens out the water levels) and out onto Michigan to watch the fireworks that are set …

Washington Dulles to LA, 1 stop in Chicago for 50 minutes was actually 5 hrs! I used that delay and took a train downtown.
I had luch with one of my favorite friends and went to Millenium Park!
the weather was 29 F which for me is COLD. i only had a blazer and a short sleeve shirt! 3 inch heels and walking around the city! i took my friend's scarf and gloves and used him as a human shield against the wind! to the windy city, i will come back in summer!

On Tuesday I decided to take part on a boat tour on the Chicago River. Before I went to Chicago I read a book called "The Devil in The Windy City" by Erik Larsson. Subtitel "Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that changed America". Besides the story of a murderer you can find lots of interesting information about all the buildings in Chicago. It's absolutely worth reading it. Anyways, after reading that book I was keen on exploring the town from a boat, to see all those buildings I read a…

Today Steve and I left our home at 5:30 - not so bright, but definitely early. It's cold here, and we are very ready for some carefree sunshine and happiness. We are excited to get back in the water for some diving, oh, and we also have a secret: we will be getting married while on this vacation. Steve and I have lived together for 12 years now ... let me tell you, this news will surprise everyone! Not even our parents know about the impending nuptuals. We caught our flight from O'Hare …

I took my husband to Chicago for his birthday this year. We had so much fun. It was the first time either of us actually played in Chicago, though we had passed through prior. We stayed at the Talbott Hotel, which is by the Magnificent Mile. Does anyone know why there is a cow painted like a lady bug, that is climbing the front side of this hotel?? We were only a couple blocks from the John Hancock building, so we went up to the observatory. I was told ahead of time to stay away from th…
