I think I have found my favorite restaurant in the world!
Hard to imagine that with my varying tastes, discerning taste buds, and high expectations, I would find a favorite in the meat packing district of Chicago.
Though there is a second location, this particular one was worth a vis…

Quartino is basically Italian Tapas and is my favourite place to get a bite to eat in Chicago. It features a menu of antipasta, pizza, pasta, and italian meat dishes along with wine, beer and desert. Be sure to check out their website for special wine and beer tastings.
It is owned by chef gib…

Quite simply amazing...the pizza is made upside down so you get the cheese on the base, topping in the middle and sauce on top. I was really dubious but it tasted fantastic and there's so much of it. We shared a medium size between 3 of us and only paid a few dollars each.

Portillo's is what I like to call, upscale fast food.... its as cheap as the republican party in alabama, as fast as a chicago political scandal, and is nice enough to take your mother too.
Portillo's has two main zones, you got the lunch area with like the hot dogs (best in chicago), italian b…

Although Rosebud is a chain restaurant, the one in Chicago is the best! Romantic atmosphere, and food to die for. Fresh made pasta and sauces, and chocolate desserts that will put you into a coma. Wine list is impressive. Portions are HUGE so it's not a bad idea to share. Great date night!

Simply put, you're hungry, you want a lot of meat, and you care not about the decor, but only that the top piece of bread jiggles on all the meat that is in the sandwich, you want Perry's Deli. These sandwiches are sinfully large and delicious, despite the fact that they are probably 3000 calories.…

The menu is Thai-fusion tapas-focused and you are served your food in a mod clubby atmosphere ("sura" is the Thai word for liquor, after all). The menu lists entrees like "Thai-style" bouillabaisse, teriyaki-glazed red snapper, plus tapas like grilled calamari with teriyaki-ginger sauce and coconut-…

The beauty of chicago is the variety of the hole in the wall hot dog joints that dot the landscape. While walking around the loop after mourning the death of michael jackson (I almost cried) I stumpled upon a massive statue of a chicago style hot dog, so I had to come in. The actual place is small,…
