Just next to the Kölner Dome where all tourist at some point walk by when visiting Köln you can find Chicago Steakhouse. The restaurant is a regular meat factory; their steaks are huge and the local like them as well, because the restaurant is almost always full; I had been walking by many times I had been in Cologne but it was the first time I entered.

It’s not a restaurant that aspires for any gastronomic price, but they fulfil am important place in the food chain in Cologne. The restaurant is far from cosy but you get your food fast which is important some times.

The waiters were very rapid and it was clear that this restaurant was driven by rapid turnover the day I visited. We had a very sweet waitress who smiled all the time even though it was an enormously busy day.

Every time my son visits me here in Brussels, we try to visit some new places outside Brussels and this day we decided to go to Köln which is 1½ hour drive from Brussels or 177 km. It was a grey day with dust rain in the air but the road conditi…bags. We did so for 3 hours before we went in and had a huge steak at the Chicago Steakhouse.
