Museum art Mar 30, 2009
This place was huge! A bit of art and antiques from about every country. Definatly one of the better city art museums in the states. Dont carry a bag or a poster tube with you. I got walked to the lobby and had to check my poster in half way thru. you are welcome to take pictures though(no flash of course)plenty of prints are sensitive to light. Everything from models to paintings, block print, furniture, pottery, temple sculpture and much more. Also if your right downtown its easy to walk to. I enjoyed the museum very much. you could easily spend half a day here because ther is so much to see. Unfortanatly the modern art wing was closed when we went, so i missed out on the picasso's and o'keefe's. If youre not within walking distance the bus does stop right out front. I will definatly stop here again to check out what i didnt have time to see the first time.
prints dont do van gough justice…

Sep 03, 2006we were fortunate enough to get in free, as admission on thurs and fri nights was free in the evenings. Beautifully arranged, the galleries feature a large collection of up to 5,000 year old pieces from ancient egypt and china, to 19th century france. you will find many Rembrandt's, Dalis, and Van Goghs here, though my personal favorites are the Renaissance, and romantic/victorian era galleries. Street performers and artists were everywhere near the Art Institute, and many were out tonight to enjoy the warm summer night, and the many inviting sights. Near the new Millenium park, there is much to see, made more beautiful at night. We spent a couple hours touring the galleries of the art institute… Labor Day weekend in Chicago |

His second day in the Midwest was a Thursday, and luckily for us the Art Institute is free on Thursday evenings, so we spent a couple hours perusing the American Art collection. Seb is an America enthusiast, and he was eager to see examples of American Art, since so much of what he has in Paris is so different… Seb goes downtown |

Sound easy or like fun? not really in my case! took some nice photos of how it's look there in downtown when it's snow… you know what happens when you go out and it's damn snowy? you get fever that what! |

I visited the Art Institute museum.
I got to hang out with my awesome cousin, his wife, and their two adorable children and did a tour of their neighbourhood - the ex-mafia hood of River Forest - with it's magnificent mansions.
I even discovered that Succotash (as in 'Suffering… I love Chicago |
