We went to this pretty huge mall in Narita. It was nice and had lots of shops to go to and check out. Me and Kenji mostly just spent our time taking purikuras. Nothing much happened. ^^ I will just share these purikuras with you.

Waitiing at Narita Airport now, for my connecting flight back to the states.  What a great trip we had!  The food, the sights, the hotels....all wonderful.   I can't wait to tell you all about it, but not for 100 yen per 10 minutes at the airport internet cafe!  You'll just have to wait till I'm back home and settled in again.   Many stories to write, and hundreds of photos to upload.   See you soon! Arrival in Chiba

We're up very early on Saturday morning. At 5:30 a.m. we leave the hotel and make our way in the pre-dawn darkness along the narrow streets of the old town.  We try to be a quiet a possible, while rolling out suitcases behind us. When we reach the main street, a tour bus is wating to take us to the Osaka airport. We will fly to Narita and connect there with our flight to Washington. At the Osaka Airport I finally have a chance to try a canned coffee from a vending machine....

Narita, Japan -› Tokyo, Japan -› ...
As the airplane began to descend an extremely verdant spot of land was suddenly revealed beneath the thick fog. "Look!!!" I said excitedly, as I shook my sister to wake her up. Her eyes cracked open, and as she realized that we were just minutes away from landing, they grew wide with anticipation and awe at the striking landscape below us- a checkerboard of bright green squares, with crooked roads running between and over them. Further in the distance, you could see the coastline and mas...

Well, the flight was about 11 hours long from Los Angeles, California to Narita, Japan. I watched "Hitch" and "Are We There Yet?" about 6 times each while I was sitting there, and slowly started to develop these blood clots in my ankles and toes. Glad the flight ended though. It wasn't too much trouble getting out of baggage claim and immigrations, but was the more difficult part was asking for directions to the nearest bus station. I soon learned that if you don't speak Japanese in this coun...

It's the first of September, I've been here for one month.  I can hardly believe it.  I doesn't feel like it's been a month yet... It's a weird feeling because this is the first year in sixteen years that I won't be starting school in September.  I'm going to miss it.  If you haven't noticed by skimming through my last couple entries, I'm pretty wordy and pedantic and like to write (which is why I've decided to write a book one day about living in Japan, using this b...

My sister Pincky has been assigned to her company's Tokyo office for 2 years already and last summer, the rest of us sisters in Manila decided to pay her a visit.  It was really great because the last time we travelled together was in Summer 2000 to Hong Kong. Tokyo being the expensive city that it is, we're quite fortunate that we don't have to pay for hotel.  We all just cramped in Pincky's small (approx. 40 sqm) but very nice apartment.  It's prolly the size of our livi...

Arrival in Japan

So the flight was super long, but not entirely intolerable.  For some reason, there were hardly any people on the flight.  The seats were arranged in rows of 2 - 4 - 2.  I was seated in the 4 seat area all to myself, so when I got tired I just stretched out over four seats.  Needless to say, I appreciated that. The movie on the plane was 'Dan in Real Life'.  Unfortunately I had just rented this movie the previous night was not so excited to see it again. ...

It has been difficult to sleep, i was worried, i was worried that if i arrive at Narita Interantional Airport, I would be "lost in translation" and not be able to find the booth that sells the tickets and not see my sister!!! But thank God, it wasnt as difficult as I expected it to be, when i went down to the baggage claiming area, I found my bag! and then went straight to the phone booth to call my sister on her cell.  Tip: Japan does not use SIM cards, so even if i activate my roami...

This trip was totally out of the blue, whilst on my Working Holiday Visa in New Zealand, I needed to get away from windy Wellington so I chose this strange combination. I was spoilt with beautiful deserted Motu in the South Pacific and amazed at the Japanese culture, its a Country like no other I've ever witnessed, a place I fell in love with and hope to return very soon.
