Chiaravalle Abbey Milan Reviews
A quite place close to Milan Jul 13, 2011
The Abbey of Santa Maria di Rovegnano is located in Chiaravalle Milanese close to the big city of Milan in the northern Italy and is well known as “Abbazia di Chiaravalle”.
The church is a Cistercian monastic complex founded on 22 January 1135.
It is one of the first examples of Gothic architecture in Italy, although maintaining some late Romanesque influences.
The abbey is a good place to spend few hours away from the noise of the city.
There's a little shop where it's possible to buy liquor, vegetables, meat or some handycrafts products by the monks of the abbey.
It's possible to get to the abbey directly from Milan by bicycle or by bus number 77.
