After a weekend visit to Pattaya, I decided to head up to Chiang Mai, where it's cooler, and hopefully, people aren't so eager to (blatantly) rip me off. After a night in Bangkok, I got two new French friends to tag along and join Awesome Force Deluxe for a lil while. =)
The sleeper car on the tr…

Happy Christmas Eve! I am alive!!!! I am sad to say that I have no pictures of our white water rafting adventure. I wasn’t brave enough to take my camera with us. I am glad I didn’t because we ended up tipping three times. (More details to come)

Alright, So i arrived in Chiang Mai the day before (Oct 29) and it all started with a horrible flight onboard airasia via Kuala Lumpur. I mean, it wasn't the plane that's bad, it was the people beside me. Men in seats 1A, 1B, 1D, and 1E are just horrible people. They were so noisy all throughout th…

Although it was the end of the trek but…

If I had a travel fairy godmother (and I realise such a thought is absurd, but I'm afraid my brain is not quite functioning today), I do not think she could grant more wishes than what Mel and I have worked our butts off to achieve this week. After haggling and hugging my way through Khaosan Road, M…

We started in Bangkok and as the trip unfolded, we continued our journey on every mode of transportation imaginable, stopping in Kanchanaburi, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, and the Perhentian Islands off the coast of Malaysia before reaching Singapore a month later. It was an adventure of a lifetime that left an indelible memory for both of us!

Today we got picked up at our guesthouse at 9:30am for the mountain biking trip. After stopping briefly at the office to fill out the standard "If I die, it's not your fault" paperwork and to pick up the equipment. Then we loaded into a couple trucks and headed up the mountain. Th…

Songkran is actually the Thai New Year. Most people know it as the Thai water festival. Traditionally it's founded on rituals performed during the hot season to help bring on the rainy season...by splashing water all around you will remind the gods that it's time to rain. If the rain st…
