The Casa Patas Flamenco Show Jun 25, 2011
Casa Patas is a very well known Flamenco show throughout Madrid. I went on a Tuesday night and even then it was full. The audience contained real Flamenco aficionados from Spain, and not only tourists.
You have to book in advance, and state at the time whether you want dinner before the show, or if you just want to see the Flamenco show. If you want a meal you must turn up between 20:30 and 21:30. (They will tell you 20:30, but many Spanish people turned up much later, as it is not usual to eat so early in Spain).
When you leave the metro, walk uphill for about half a minute and then turn into Calle Magdelena. Walk another few seconds before turning into Cañizares, which is a small cobbled street.
The restaurant is bright and traditional, and the waiters are friendly.
If you’ve come for the meal, there is a set menu for 32 euros. It changes daily but starts with an aperitif. The food is traditional and homemade, and although it is simple it is delicious. You can also choose from fish, meat or salads if you don’t want the set menu.
