59 Km south of Tetouan: nestled high in the gray rif Mountains chefchaouen known as the blue city is built on hillside and is a world part from hits larger Spanish style neighbors.
Chefchaouen is a "dry" city in the North of Morocco, which means there is no alcohol except in certain hotels. All the houses are painted blue or/and white giving Chefchaouen a really magical feeling. You can see some mountains in the background and donkeys walk through the city. There is a river nearby where the women still wash clothes. There are public ovens and baths and every type of moroccan craft can be bought in the town.
