Chef Geoff's Downtown Washington Reviews
Pretty place for tourists, nice place for locals to celebrate something Feb 02, 2009
We went to go see a play at the National Theater (which is right around the corner), so Chef Geoff's was a nice place to go. Maybe it's cause I'm a little broke right now, but it was a bit expensive. They definitely have burgers and pizza, but some of their more delicious dishes are more pricey. They seemed to have a great happy hour crowd and their beer mugs were huge (but be warned, don't go dressed in some raggidy shorts and a tank top-their happy hour is for the professional downtown crowd).
The menu is quite divine and there has got to be something on there for everyone. If you live in DC, it's a nice place to go to celebrate something and if you have the funds, it might be a nice place to visit often. If you are visiting DC, there are several other places to go, but Chef Geoff's is definitely an option.
The waite staf bites...after being seated, looking at the menu, closing the menus, and asking 2 other staff members for help, it took our waiter 16 minutes to make his way to our table. 16 minutes doesn't sound like a lot of time, but next time you are sitting in a restaurant, see how long 16 minutes lasts! The dark wood of Chef Geoff's creates a lovely evening decor.
