Alternative airport transfer using Wolli Creek Station Jun 11, 2014
Ok, this is a guide for you if you want to skip paying the hefty cost between the Sydney international airport and the city. Besides taking the train from the airport terminals to Central, the alternative is to take the train from Wolli Creek Station which is just one station away from the International terminal station and only about 2km away from the airport. Here, I will describe the walk from Wolli Creek to the International Airport (correct as at Jun 2014)

I started by taking the train to Wolli creek, which cost me only AUD 3.80. At Wolli Creek station, it can be confusing to get your navigation. There will be many people walking to and from the station, but you would want to go towards Magdalene Terrace. There are many route you can take. I walked along Arncliffe St, passing by supermarkets and rows of shop. An indication that you are on the right track, you will pass under the railway track along Guess Ave.

Make your way towards the roundabout where Magdelene Terrace and Arncliffe St meet. It is not difficult to miss. Continue along Brodie Spark Dr and you will see Cooks River in front.

Here, you will need to cross, via pedestrian crossing, the Princes Highway. Then make a slight left turn into the Cahill Park and you can enjoy a nice, morning stroll, like I did, along the Cooks River.

Walking along the pavement, with the river on your left. Aim towards Marsh St and you will see a hotel on your right. Then follow the path and walk onto Marsh St. The airport is on your right. Then there are signs to guide you to the terminal. Congrats, you have saved yourself $10 and enjoyed a nice walk. It took me 30 minutes cos I was walking very slowly and I sort of got lost at the initial part.
First step, get a ticket to Wolli …
