Chateau Versailles Hotel Montreal

When I visited Montreal with a group of college friends, Chateau Versailles was our crash pad. Wait, "crash pad" makes it sound like a cheapo hostel for 18-year-old American college kids who go to Quebec to [legally] drink.

Well, part of that is true! But the part about it being a cheapo hostel is not.

Chateau Versailles is a beautiful boutique hotel with tasteful French-inspired decor throughout the lobby and guest rooms. Rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable, and well-appointed. The front desk and bell staff are very accommodating and brimming with hospitality.

And contrary to my purpose for visiting Montreal, this is not a hotel for rowdy college drunkards. It's an excellent choice for business travelers, couples, and families. Good location a few-block walk from a subway station, ample dining and nightlife, and the Musee des Beaux-Arts de Montreal.

Room rates are low for the quality of the hotel, especially since we split the cost between two people--I think we each ended up paying about $50 USD per person per night.
