Being Single often can make it difficult and cost prohibitive to charter a yacht and sail the British Virgin islands. In my opinion sailing is the best way to see the islands and often it can only be achieved if you can afford to pay for a fully captained yacht with crew. Try to work with an experienced travel specialist that can help you find other like minded individuals to share the costs and pitch in on cooking and being part of the crew. A basic charter with captain and crew in the BVI can cost more than $10,000 US for a week. We were able to do it for approximately $6000 and that included everything but airfare and transfers. The cost per person for 6 guests was about $1000 each and that included most meals. It was an amazing experience, everyone got along great and some of us plan on doing it again this summer. Search for affordable sailing adventures and you will find several companies experienced in this type of chartering.
