In Phi Phi, Charlie's Bungalows is the best spot. A bungalow hotel by the beach with reasonable rates. If you are looking for something more classy, Banyan Tree is good, also by the sea but no beach. However all you need to do is 5 minutes walk to reach the beach. No motorised vehicles in the island, tiny and unique resort where you can hang around with your swimsuites 24 hours anywhere you go.
In Koh Samui, stay at Chaweng Beach. Best spot is Ark Bar&Hotel by the beach. Reserve in advance otherwise no chance. Busy beach and bar with backpackers all day long.
If you are going to Phuket, stay at Patong Beach where everything is going on. If you want a quite holiday, Karon Beach is good for you.
