Excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Three star hotel at two star prices always works for me. Our room was very spacious, except for the kitchen. Within walking distance from most sights and the city center. Of course, public transportation is always an option. The four-star restaurant, János Étterem, in the hotel is excellent and practically worth the stay alone.

We finally got settled into our hotel, the Hotel Charles, on the Buda side of town. The hotel cost us about $40 for a triple, and was really nice for the price. Hotel Charles , web site after going through passport control. It only cost about 20 Euros and was much easier than hauling luggage on metros or buses. Our driver was very friendly and courteous. He pointed out several key points that helped us get our bearings… Budapest 2007.10.12
