While visiting my sister in Kuala Lumpur, we desided to have some days in Thailand. Traveling with AirAsia, it`s almost for free. We booked a nice hotel in Karon beach and from there we planed our excursion to Phangnga National Park with elephant safari, Khao Tapoo Roch Phuket, Krabi, Khai Nai, Khai Nui, and Khai Nok Islands.

It has been almost two years since I volunteered with CISV for their International People's Project in Thailand. It was my first time in South East Asia and for what I knew, we were going to work with the affected villages in the areas most affected from the 2004 tsunami. From Patong I took a minivan to Khao Lak, which was the area hit hardest in Thailand by the tsunami. There was still some rebuilding going on. More than four thousand poor souls lost their lives here. After four days in Phuket, Khao Lak seemed pretty slow, but it was a good place to rest and regroup.
