Arrived back in Nongkhai in time for the 60th birthday party of the founder of T2T. Was fun. Had traditional thai orchestra and dancers, the music is growing on me but still not my favourite.
Spent the week teaching at a summer camp at Meechia school, but only a few hours each morning so not too much. Katy and Laura are here, came to visit for 3 days which has been so good. Is great to see them and show them round. Saw all the sights and of course Bar Nanas, the quality thai club! They leave...

Nong Khai was a mid-sized town with not much to it, but it was as different from Vientiane as Vientiane was from Pak Beng. I took a room in an atmospheric guest house, h...

Arrived in Nong Khai this morning on the border with Laos after an overnight train from Bangkok. The train was a definite experience as it was so hot and we were right next to the toilet which smelt very bad! We were also sleeping on the top bunk on a moving train which isn't the most comfortable thing. So all in all it wasn't a good nights sleep.
We were so excited to meet cat though and it was good to see her. We got a tuk tuk to her dorm which is very spacious but the heat hits yo...
