They say the world is
getting smaller. After the almost 24 hour journey from Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Bangkok, Chiang Rai to Chiang Khong I would say it’s

possible, so I would get used to the new time zone right away.
I ...

Today we'd pay a visit to the local tribes that live in the most Northern province, close to Chiang Rai. First we had to go into little mini-vans. It was to steep for our bus to go there, and too many turns. after a nice ride through the mountains we got to the first tribe, the Akha-tribe. they are among one of the poorest tribes. They live in little bamboo or wooden huts. Funny thing was they did have a tv. Well the leader had one. We got a little tour around the village. Animals were runnin...

My boat got into the Chiang Saen port around 6 and then I went through the most relaxed customs screening ever. I guess they figure that the china screening is probably tough enough.
It's a pretty small town and I don't have a map, but fortunately, plenty of people seem to have basic english and a guy even gave me a ride to a guest house. He kicked his wife out of the motorbike side car so he could fit me. That's some hospitality!
For dinner I got some yummy chicken fried ...

Currently needing to catch up on some sleep after three days at a school. However, lets start from the beginning. On Friday morning, we planned all our evening production then in the afternoon we went to a large superstore in Chiang Rai. Here we bought 150 soap, 150 toothpastes and 150 toothbrushes for the promotions plus tonnes of paper, coloured pens, pencils and balloons for teaching. We did get odd looks at the check out! We most of the group bought tonnes of junk food to feed their cravin...

Today I was up at 10am to meet everyone for breakfast but we ended up splitting into two groups so I went with James and Johnny to Bee Bees restaurant just down the street from Julies cus we’d really liked their food and the owner was super nice to us. During breakfast I basically decided that I wasn’t going to stay another night as I wanted to get moving so that I didn’t have to cut any more time out of Laos than I already had. After breakfast I made my way over to the post office and ...

In Thailand no matter how far you steer clear of it sooner or later you’ll encounter the sex trade. Because it isn’t a seedy underworld. Here its as casual as the red neon it bars on the soi entrance with girls/ladyboys sitting outside, the dark tinted massage parlour next to the market, or the friendly girl chatting with you in the bar. You don’t have to go out looking for it it’s in your face on your lap.
Pietro and I were walking back to out hotel one night in a small town when w...

Well...where do I begin to describe about the ladyboy cabaret. It was absolutely HILARIOUS! The dancing was so out of sync, the miming terrible, but you know what? It was so so funny. The costumes and set were amazing, and I couldn't believe at the end that not only were the two very obviously try-hard females ladyboys, but EVERY SINGLE PERSON on stage was a ladyboy! I was blown out of my mind. It wasn't just make-up and costumes, but breast implants, facial reconstruction, the whole works! I...
