 Hawaii's Hidden Gem for Great Tasting Malasadas Sep 16, 2008
Champion Malasadas is definitely a local favorite when it comes to their malasadas and pastries. I really enjoy the fact that their malasadas are made fresh right on the spot. You get to see them made, tossed in sugar, and packed. It's actually fun to watch.
In my opinion, the malasadas here are higher quality than "the other guys." The malasada is light, yet has a very rich flavor. The texture is soft like a freshly made doughnut, but has a crunchy outside. I believe that to truly enjoy a malasada, you have to eat the regular sugar ones fresh (although Champion's also has filled malasadas). Because of their great taste, high quality, and their dedication to freshness, I think Champion Malasadas is truly a hidden gem when it comes to Malasadas. Try them out! |
