A ride to the temple with no brakes
posted by:

People i met here, who contributed to and improved my trip: Juliana (Russia) We arrived into Champasak after a 5 hour trip from Don Det involving a canoe ride, Sawngthaew trip, Ferry crossing and finally a short distance on a tuk tuk. We were feeling pretty exhausted, but we were also keen to get out and see the nearby Wat Phou Champasak. We therfore hired some bikes and began peddaling along the scenic 7km stretch of road. Sergej on the other hand enjoyed cycling so much the other day that he decided to keep on exploring the islands on two wheels. The tour we booked for about 12 USD per person was supposed to bring us first to a spot to observe the rare...

Asian Oasis Vat Phou Mekong River Cruise (with the Blanks!)

9/19/06 Everything was going fine in the minivan as we drove back to Pakse to get on the boat until I said something to Cindy about my camera. She reached in her daypack fumbling around as I watched the panic on her face grow, realizing that she had left her camera back at Saesi. Luckily we weren't to far down the road and so Mee said we had time to go back and get it. Not an auspicious way to start our river cruise, but it seemed ok and we retrieved the camera, even managing to avoid runnin...
