Hiking Ridges of Kathmandu Valley Sep 15, 2013
I have realized that I did not go much for travelling or outdoor this year. Today is Saturday means off day and should I just simply let it go or no. I flashed with a plan to hike Champadevi - a Southern Ridge of Kathmandu valley.
It was 8.30am , I gear up with outdoor clothings and trekking boots, water bottle and lunch box, pack up my back and gone. I drove to Hattiban from where I can start Champadevi trek.
At 9.30am I start hiking, the weather was so perfect. Beautiful sceneries, surroudings, pine forest, various species of birds and its chirping making beautiful songs on the trail. Clear blue sky, sceneries of mountain and forest and panoramic view of Himalayas seen more beautiful as more I climb up. It not let me stop to move more even my legs almost gave up. I stopped and relaxed with some photo snaps for half an hour to be ready for much steep climb up to summit. After 45 minutes I reached at top some how dragging my tired legs, sweats and I threw my self on the ground - 'Stanco Morto'. It took me three hours to climb up here at the height of 2278 mtrs. A statue of goddess Champadevi is there. The view was amazing from here, I enjoyed hot sun, cold breeze and beautiful panoramic view of great Himalayan range from the ridge. And Kathmandu valley is down there on lap of Mountains covered in blanket of mist and haze still.
