Beautiful Cetinkaya apartments May 01, 2011
When visiting Kalkan we stayed in a beautiful two story, self-catering apartment called 'Cetinkaya apartments'. The reason i have chosen to write about it is due to how good value they are (if you have enough people). It can hold up to 6, and if you can fill all these spaces you'll be paying as little as £50 a person for a week.

They're beautifully furnished and and equipped with everything you'd need for cooking and cleaning. The apartment itself is two stories, with two bedrooms; one room with a double bed (and balcony with beautiful veiw), one room with two singles and the last two places are on a sofa bed downstairs. There is also three toilets/shower rooms available. On top of all this, there is an infinity pool which overlooks the beautiful veiw of the whole town and coast (the pool is shared with three other apartments)

The only downside to this is that the apartment is on top of a very long steep hill which makes walking up from the village to your apartment a very tiring experience in the intense heat, especially if you're carrying shopping. However, in the village you'll find bar after bar and restaurant after restaurant, so you'll never be stuck for choice on that front. Also, once a week there is a local market selling foods, local crafts and clothes and jewlery, which is definately worth a visit. If you're into the touristy stuff there are a couple tourist offices offering excursions such as kayaking, horse riding etc. If your one for beaches there is only a small, pebbley beach at the bottom of the village, which is okay, but can get crowded.

Overall, the apartments are lovely and excellent value for money. However, there location on top of a hill distracts from this a little and similarly, the village itself doesn't have alot to do other than eating and drinking, so if you wanted more to do with your time you may find yourself travelling out of the village, elsewhere, at extra expense.
