Cercedilla is located in the northwestern part of the Community of Madrid with 56 km from the capital and about 30 km from the city of Segovia.
Situated in the heart of the Sierra de Guadarrama, Cercedilla is surrounded by several mountains as Siete Picos (2138 m), La Bola del Mundo and La Peñota (1945 m).
The town is predominantly mountainous, with a continental climate, marked by very pleasant summers and cold and humid winters, with frequent snowfalls, especially in the Puerto de Navacerrada, which is the highest point of town.
It is possible to come easily by train from Madrid with the line C8b, and from there in the line C9 is possible to go to the Puerto de Navacerrada and finally to the Puerto de Cotos.
