Central America has a multitude of cultures that need to be experienced. Many indigenous people make up the population of these countries. The east coast of the isthmus however is populated by the Garifuna people, descendants of the African slaves brought to the Caribbean by the British. Not only do they speak english, but their culture is very different from more central or western Central America.

This day was pretty uneventful.  Sarah and I made the sad drive from Arenal to San Jose, which took about three hours, dropped off the rental car, and headed to the airport to catch our respective flights.  I had a connection in Guatemala City, Guatemala (a new country for me!).  I was lucky that I encountered no rain delays.  Again I flew TACA and loved them.
